Growing a Cowboy Collection

The family of Fred Linse recently made a donation to the library in his memory. This gift allowed us to purchase a variety of western stories in various formats.  Of particular note is the 2014 Spur Award winner for best western traditional novel, Crossing Purgatory by Gary Schanbacher, and two 2014 Spur finalists, The Promise by Ann Weisgarber (for best western historical novel, and The Hardest Ride, by Gordon L Rottman (for best western traditional novel.)

The Western Writers of America organization “annually honors writers for distinguished writing about the American west.”

Other new western titles purchased with this gift include paperbacks, large print titles, hard and soft covers books, an Audio CD, and a children’s picture book, B is for Buckaroo, by Louise Doak Whitney.

The library also purchased ten Disney classics in DVD! Stop in and check out these new titles!
