All next week, we are celebrating with ‘Read Across America!!’ Beginning Monday, March 2nd, on Dr. Seuss’s Birthday!
This year’s theme is “Create & Celebrate a Nation of Diverse Readers,” with the focus being on “Champion Kindness,” encouraging books that reflect all readers and promote empathy, with the overall goal of making every child feel welcome and seen in literature. This emphasizes Diverse Readers: seeing themselves in stories, understanding different perspectives, and feeling a sense of belonging.
